Sumatra PDF is a slim, free PDF, XPS, DjVu, PDF, ePub, MOBI, CHM, CBZ and CBR reader for Windows with a minimalist design. Simplicity has a higher priority than a lot of features.
This reader is small and starts up really fast. The options are a little weak on the ground but the app provides a very comfortable environment for reading PDF files. And you can print documents without much hassle.
Moreover, you can take over this via Adobe Acrobat any day to search eBooks. Sumatra PDF is also designed for mobile use. It is only one file with no external dependencies so you can easily run it from an external USB drive. It takes up little disk space.
The Portable version is a lightweight app, so you can view PDF files on the go. You can put it on a USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, or CD. You can also use it on any computer, without leaving any personal information behind.
Sumatra PDF can do the following:
Open PDF files via the menu
Open PDF files by drag and drop
Set different zoom levels via the menu
The application does not lock the PDF file. Without closing the PDF, the user can recompile the text document, create a new PDF file and then press the R key to refresh the PDF document. Printing in Sumatra is done by converting each PDF page into a bitmap.
This results in very large storage files and likely slow printing on printers with small memory. Hyperlinks embedded in PDF documents are not active in Sumatra.
